Data Deletion Instructions

1. Remove HookSend from your Instagram account

This stops HookSend from receiving new data from your Instagram account or acting on it.

1. Open Instagram and go to your settings. In the app, go to your profile and tap the menu (☰) at the top right.
2. Under Your app and media, tap Website permissions, then Apps and websites.
3. Open the Active tab, find HookSend and tap Remove.

Removing HookSend in Instagram does not delete the data HookSend already holds, and we are not notified when you do it. To delete that data, use one of the options below.

2. Delete your HookSend account

For HookSend customers:

1. Sign in to HookSend and open Settings.
2. In the Danger Zone section, click Delete Account.
3. Click Permanently Delete to confirm.

The deletion happens straight away and cannot be undone. It removes:

• your account, your sign-in details and your profile
• every workspace you own and everything in it: connected Instagram accounts and their access tokens, campaigns, DM logs, leads, tracked links and their click data, your storefront, Comment Guard settings and history, brand collaboration records, knowledge bases and their documents, DM flows, referral and affiliate records, and your plan, AI credit and billing history

If you are a member of someone else's workspace, deleting your account removes you from it. The workspace belongs to its owner and stays in place.

3. Disconnect one Instagram account

To remove one Instagram account but keep your HookSend account, open Settings, find the account under Instagram Connected Channels and click Disconnect.

This deletes the account's access token and everything HookSend holds for that account: its campaigns, DM logs, leads, tracked link clicks, follower history, storefront, Comment Guard settings and history, and brand collaboration records. Knowledge bases and DM flows belong to the workspace, so they stay.

4. What we keep, and why

A few records remain after the steps above:

• Payment records held by our UPI payment gateway: the order ID, amount, date, UPI reference number, and the name, email address and mobile number sent with each order. We keep these for our accounts, for tax, and in case a payment is disputed.
• For card payments, the records Dodo Payments keeps as our merchant of record: the order, the amount, the tax charged and the billing details, held under Dodo's own privacy policy.
• Support tickets you raised, and our replies, so we have a record of what was asked and answered.
• Copies of the events Instagram sent us, such as new comments, messages and button taps, and some service logs, including the record of answers your knowledge bases sent. These can contain comment and message text, usernames and Instagram IDs.

To have your support tickets, event copies and logs deleted as well, open a support ticket as described in the next section.

5. Ask us to delete the rest

To have the records in section 4 deleted, sign in to HookSend and open a support ticket with the category "Delete my data". Say which Instagram account the request is about.

We act on deletion requests only when they come from inside the account, so we know the account's owner asked. We don't accept them by email. If you also want to delete your account, open the ticket first: you need to be signed in to raise it.

Once we have your ticket, we delete the data within 48 hours, except records the law requires us to keep.

If you commented on or messaged a business that uses HookSend

Ask that business to remove your details. It decides what happens to the comments, messages and any email address or phone number you gave it.

Deleting data from HookSend does not delete anything on Instagram. Comments and messages stay on Instagram until you, or the account you wrote to, delete them there.
